Campus Transportation

Student Services offers discounted bus passes, parking permits, maps and other information for students and visitors.

Automated Clearing House (ACH)

If as a student you are entitled to receive a refund from your Institutional funds, FNU is offering the ability to have them transferred to your bank account instead of issuing a check.

  • Receive certain discounts
  • Boost their digital literacy
  • Use current technology regardless of their income and employment status

Practical Help for Students

Here鈥檚 a list of practical help and organizations they can turn to for rent, utilities, food, and general support:

For International Students Specifically

  1. Their School’s International Student Office
    • This should be their first stop.
    • Services may include:
      • Emergency financial aid or grants
      • Housing assistance
      • Food pantry access
      • Guidance with legal and immigration questions
      • Referrals to community partner
  2. On-Campus Food Pantries or Student Assistance Programs
    • Many colleges in Miami (e.g., Miami Dade College, FIU, UM) offer free groceries or stipends for students in crisis.

For International Students Specifically

Even if they鈥檙e not eligible for federal or state aid, some local nonprofits serve everyone, regardless of immigration status:

Starting from Scratch: A Checklist

  • Go to the school鈥檚 International Student Office for referrals and campus resources.
  • Visit a local food pantry this week.
  • Call 211 and ask for nonprofit agencies that help international students or immigrants with rent/food.
  • Reach out to Catholic Charities or Salvation Army.
  • Ask about church-based resources鈥攖hey often assist quietly and generously.
